As the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe, it feels less like a structure and more like a living witness to centuries of Swiss heritage. On this evening, the air was crisp and still, allowing the medieval Water Tower to cast a near-perfect reflection onto the glassy surface of the water.

Standing there, I watched the clouds pull back just enough to reveal a fiery glow behind the distant peaks.
